Once again, I'd like to share my journey and reflections on meditation. I've never been one to meditate rigorously. Instead, I've been prone to overthinking and constantly churning thoughts in my mind. I've delved into and practiced healing work for years, realizing that it's an endless labyrinth where the mind finds solace. Nevertheless, a brief daily meditation helped calm my mind. Also, engaging in meditative activities with open eyes, such as focusing on cooking (chopping vegetables, etc.) and walking outdoors, aided in tranquility. However, as my mind began to quiet in these situations, it started to actively intrude elsewhere. Oddly enough, this was beneficial. I began noticing what my mind was doing, like when it criticized my body at the gym even though there was nothing wrong. I began discerning the distinction between "being" and the mind. The greatest assistance on my journey has been Mooji's satsangs. He made me realize a deeper essence, what we truly are, and how the problems brought forth by the mind stem from identifying as a person. Being a person is merely a collection of thoughts; it is not who we are. Letting go of the persona felt impossibly daunting, especially when most teachings of the law of attraction advocate creating a new identity for oneself. Yet, something within me said that constantly crafting new identities couldn't be the solution. If one adopts an identity and believes they are that persona, they also inherit its problems. So, back to meditation. Today, as I began meditating, I reached a point where something inside me said, "There is no meditator." Meditation practice is crucial and beneficial initially to calm the mind, but examine: who is the meditator?
Wishing you a day filled with self-discovery, connection, and moments of pure authenticity.
With warmth,
Marketta
